About Us
Elemental Acres isn't merely a farm—it's a beacon of hope for the Meishan Pig, a species teetering on the brink of extinction. Since our inception in 2020, our mission has been crystal clear: to halt the dwindling numbers of this unique breed and spearhead its revival in the United States. A crucial part of our strategy hinges on an unconventional truth: promoting the consumption of Meishan pork as a key step in sustaining the breed's viability. We recognize that the path to saving the Meishan from extinction isn't through advocating for a 400lb pig as a pet but through integrating this exquisite breed into sustainable agricultural and culinary practices. Our efforts have made us front-runners in the conservation and breeding of Meishan Pigs, establishing a network of partnerships and distributing breeding stock nationwide, all in concert with the American Meishan Breeders Association since February 2021.
At the core of Elemental Acres beats the heart of a dedicated husband and wife team. Rebecca, with over two decades of service in the Oregon Air National Guard, provides leadership for all farm needs, particularly with livestock. Mike, with his deep-rooted knowledge in meat processing, operates our food truck, Elemental Eats, located in St. Helens, OR. There, he crafts a delicious and nourishing menu featuring our Meishan Pork.
Together, they are the lifeblood of our farm, embodying our commitment to conservation and sustainability.
Our voyage is fueled by love, driven by a commitment to not only preserve a rare breed but to enrich our community and pave the way for a sustainable future. Elemental Acres is more than a farm—it's a movement. By supporting the Meishan Pig and advocating for sustainable practices, we're crafting a legacy that will feed not just our community but inspire change nationwide.
We invite you to join us on this remarkable journey. Together, we can plant the seeds of change—one pig, one plate at a time.

Practices
At Elemental Acres, we practice regenerative agriculture on our 27-acre farm, prioritizing the welfare of our Meishan pigs and the health of the environment. By rotating pigs in small groups through verdant pastures and dense woodland areas, we ensure their wellbeing and encourage a thriving ecosystem. Our commitment to sustainability means avoiding subtherapeutic antibiotics, growth hormones, and unnecessary vaccines, focusing instead on natural resilience.
Our pigs' diet is carefully chosen, consisting of non-GMO, corn and soy-free feed made primarily of wheat, peas, and oats from the Pacific Northwest. Enhanced with swine appropriate minerals and probiotics and fermented for 24 hours, their feed promotes optimal digestibility and gut health. This approach, coupled with their natural foraging, helps control invasive species like blackberry and scotch broom on our land. At Elemental Acres, we're dedicated to harmonious, sustainable farming and livestock management practices.
